TANCA:
The History
Almost 35 years ago, the first Tanca roll rings for
the first Ø 290 mm Kocks rolling block were designed. Since then,
Tanca succeeded for mainly hot deformation tasks in the ferrous
and non-ferrous industry. Because of the Tanca
success for rolling, Tanca was later on increasingly required
for other hot and cold applications as well.
TANCA: The Material Tanca rings are made of iron based material. The iron matrix
was chosen to embed low wear carbides.
The iron composition was selected over cobalt to gain the
following properties:
- the low wear of carbides,
- the toughness of steel and
- the variation of hardness without changing its composition.
- The grain-size of the carbides vary according to the deformation
tasks from maximum 15 microns to minimum ~1 micron
The TANCA Family: An Overview
All Tanca grades can contribute to your mill's economy.
On average, Tanca 50-M shows a five times longer performance
with half the existing wear, as compared to conventional
materials. By way of longer pass campaigns you save time
and vice versa.
Tanca roll rings cut down the number of pass exchanges
up to a factor 10 - the number of cobbles up to a factor
30.
Less pass exchanges and less cobbles turn downtime into
operation time. Through less cobbles, you save operation
time and billet costs. |
